Fixed-term contracts are often used by employers to determine whether an employee has met all job expectations. Below is an example of what may be included in a standard fixed-term contract.

1. Commencement Date and Term

 

The employment of the Employee will commence on the _______________. (“the commencement date”) and terminate on the ______________. (“the termination date”).  The contract is therefore for a fixed period of _________ months.

 

OR

 

The employment of the Employee will commence on the _______________. (“the commencement date”) and terminate on completion of the ____________ project (“the termination date”).  The contract is therefore for a fixed period linked ot the completion of the _____________ project.
